Amish Apple Fritters
Instructions
- In the bowl of the stand mixer, cream white sugar and eggs for 3 minutes. Add milk, then add dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Beat on low speed for 5 more minutes, to well combined.
- In another bowl, mix chopped apples with lemon juice, then add the mixture to the bowl of the stand mixer, and beat again for 4 minutes.
- In a large deep skillet, heat vegetable oil for frying.
- Once the oil is at 375 degrees, spoon a large full tablespoon of the fritter batter and slide it carefully into the hot oil.
- When the fritters become brown on both sides, remove them to a paper-towel-lined to drain.
- Mix all glaze ingredients together, until you have a nice creamy glaze.
- Brush the glaze over the top of each fritter, let the glaze harden for 10 to 15 minutes, then serve them!!
